The Harsh Reality – 4 Reasons Why You May Be Poor…
“People are poor because they are too lazy. They may be working hard, but they are lazy about their financial education” – Robert Kiyosaki
I read this quote, and it got me thinking… man, there’s a lot more to it than that.
The harsh reality is…
First, people are poor because they don’t value themselves enough!
It has nothing to do with money.
Sure, some of us we’re born in better or more privileged situations than others (then again, that’s just a state of mind),
but we all have the same massive amount of potential we can tap into, and what most people don’t value when I talk about not valuing themselves, is their ability to tap into that potential.
And though it may be hard at first, any background can be used to help fuel you and used to your advantage by just changing your perspective as to how you look at it.
So it doesn’t matter where you come from and how you were raised, we all were born with the same ability to tap into our massive potential.
I mean, jeez… look at what we’ve created in this world as a civilization. We’re a long way from using sticks and stones as our tools to aid us in life, right?
And we’ve arrived here, because some of those people decided to not limit themselves and decided to allow themselves to tap into their true potential.
So first, value your yourself and your ability to make things happen. Don’t worry, excuses can’t save you from this one, because people have proven that by doing so, we’ve created the world we see around us now.
Second, people are poor because they aren’t curious!
Allow yourself time to think and you’re mind to wander.
Successful people don’t sell a spark of an idea short for everyday details and distractions in life, or limiting beliefs that try to interrupt (this is where most people fail and keeps them poor).
Instead, they dive down the rabbit whole and see where it can take them and what the possibilities are as that idea matures…
This is how we begin the process of achieving anything meaningful in our lives; wealth, success, healthy relationships, finding happiness in the small things, changing the world, becoming the best at something, etc.
There are two quotes regarding ideas and thoughts that to this day, remain eternal. Those are…
“All that we are is a result of what we have thought. The mind is everything. What we think we become.” – Buddha
And…
“Nothing can stop an idea who’s time has come.” – Unknown
So, once you allow yourself to be curious and to dive into your ideas, you’ll see how your life changes and how far from poor you’ll be.
Third, people are poor because they don’t offer the world the kind of value they can really create.
Most people, because they don’t value themselves, their ability to tap into their full potential and don’t allow themselves to be curious, end up following the path everyone else follows, therefore create mediocre value for the world.
In a rapidly changing world, where everyone is more connected and solutions are a lot easily accessible, the problem is….
You use to get mediocre rewards for offering mediocre value. Now, for mediocre value you, your rewards suck! And are so little they leave you struggling every month to make ends meet.
So to get mediocre rewards, you have to offer good value to the world.
To receive good rewards, you have to offer great value.
To receive great rewards, you have to offer awesome value.
To receive awesome rewards, you have to offer outstanding value.
You get the point?
Now, you really have to step it up to live the kind of life you want and to receive the level of rewards that you want in your life.
The only way to successfully do this and enjoy the process is stop kidding yourself and start using your talents to offer as much value to the world as you possibly can, not just do something irrelevant to what you love because everyone says to do it or because society says “it’s the right path.”
So don’t lie to yourself, don’t be someone else. It might take a little time to do it, but become the best that you can at being you, and then still try to get better at it.
The fourth and final reason why most people are poor is because they impulsively choose the option that gives them immediate gratification, instead of looking at the big picture (which you can only do if you allow yourself time to think).
The majority of people are always in survival mode, which is the biggest life-draining trap you can be in if you don’t ever give yourself time to step out it and experience life in different ways.
It’s a mindset that people fall into, and that’s totally enforced by our animal instinct.
They’re normally in this mode when they are struggling financially and every penny counts, and when all they are focused on is getting enough from the world to survive. Therefore, in situations they’ll choose what will give them immediate gratification and what will benefit them immediately.
Well, this is the weakest possible state you can be in. It’s normal to fall into because it happens on many different levels, so we’ve all done it.
The important thing is to be able to catch yourself when you’re in it and snap out of it.
Once you do that, you can see the world from an abundant state of mind where you won’t be worried anymore.
In this state you’ll never be limited and you’ll see a vast amount of choices, options, ideas, and possible outcomes.
This is the best possible state you can be in.
It’s the best for decision making, you can offer more to the world instead of focusing on just getting getting getting,
and everything in your life will improve by 100 times+ the more you can be in this state of mind.
With that mindset, there’s no such thing as being poor.
Bonus Tip: Hang around people that are confident, value themselves, are thinkers and are curious, that offer a lot of value to your life and the lives of others, and who can look past choosing something for immediate gratification in a situation, people who can see the big picture of things. By hanging with people and friends like that, you’ll live a life like no other.
Sundays… weird day for a rant huh?
Anyways, hope you enjoyed and got a lot out of this!
Cheers!
Ethan
